Seria injusto esperar que uma novela mostrasse algo tão extremo. Mas foi justo esperar que o assunto não virasse a piada provocada pelos vilões trapalhões e os policiais nada perspicazes, além das típicas soluções folhetinescas que são aceitáveis só no terreno amoroso, não no contexto policial. Em histórias de investigação, o realismo é essencial e a habilidade do autor está em espelhar a verdade sem fazer um documentário. Longe disso, Salve Jorge demandou uma tal “vontade de voar”, que seria embarcar na história sem se questionar. Pena que seu avião – ao contrário do jatinho de Lívia Marine (Cláudia Raia), o tempo todo partindo do Rio para Istambul – não decolou.
